Natural Science - Parts of a plant

Good morning class!

Today we are going to learn about something that you can see everywhere, specially during spring.

Hoy vamos a aprender sobre algo que podemos ver por todas partes, especialmente en primavera.

That´s right! We are talking about Plants!!

¡Eso es!¡Estamos hablando de las plantas!

Plants need air, sunlight and water to grow. Plants grow, produce seeds for new plants and die.

Las plantas necesitan aire, sol y agua para crecer. Las plantas producen semillas para crear nuevas plantas y después se mueren.

Vamos a ver un vídeo para aprender un poquito más acerca de las plantas.

And before I go, I want to propose a very easy and fun experiment. We are going to plant a bean and see how it grows!

Y antes de irme os quiero proponer un experimento muy fácil y divertido. ¡Vamos a plantar una judía y a ver cómo crece!

For this experiment you will need:

✅ A glass

Un vaso

✅ Kitchen paper

Papel de cocina

✅ A bean

Una judía

1. Roll several sheets of kitchen paper, and put them into the glass.

Enrolla varias hojas de papel de cocina y mételas en el vaso.

2. Put the bean between the glass and the paper (like in the image above).

Pon la judía entre el cristal y el papel (como en la imagen de arriba).

3. Put 2 cm of water (aprox.) in the glass.

Echa 2 cm de agua en el vaso.

4. In the next days, you will have to make sure that the paper is wet enough, putting more water if necesary.

Durante los días siguientes, deberás asegurarte de que el papel está lo suficientemente húmedo, y echar más agua si fuera necesario.

5. Wait and see what happens!!
